Saying thank you so it does not read like a macro
Praise is the easiest review to answer badly, because the words that come first are the words everyone else used. Three drafts, and the one move that separates them from a copy and paste.
The one move that makes a positive reply work
Somebody has taken four minutes out of their day to say something kind in public. The reply that follows is read by anyone scrolling the profile, and a wall of identical thank yous under a wall of five star reviews tells them nobody is home.
The whole job is proof of reading. One concrete detail lifted out of the review does it: the drink they ordered, the person they mentioned, the thing they were nervous about. That single clause is the difference between a reply that sounds like a person and one that sounds like a setting somebody switched on. It is also the only part a template cannot supply, which is why the drafts below reach for a different detail each time.
One long, one short, one about a person
Three five star reviews with very different amounts to work with. The interesting one is the middle sample: fourteen words, nothing specific in it, and the draft still has to sound like somebody read it.
- 5 out of 5Warm and detailed
I come here three mornings a week and it is the small things that keep me coming. They remember I take my flat white extra hot, the pastries are made that morning, and there is always a seat by the window. The Ethiopian single origin this month is the best coffee I have had all year.
Drafted reply
Elena, thank you for this. Knowing your extra hot flat white and a window seat are part of your three-mornings-a-week routine means a lot to the team. We are so glad the Ethiopian single origin is landing well too, it has quickly become a favorite around here.

- 5 out of 5Short and enthusiastic
Best coffee in the neighbourhood. Friendly staff, quick service, great space.
Drafted reply
Thank you, Tom. Knowing the coffee, the team, and the space all landed well means a lot. See you again soon.

- 5 out of 5Praises one person by name
Stopped in on my way to a job interview and was clearly a wreck. The barista, I think her name was Nadia, noticed, made my coffee first and told me to breathe. Small thing, made my whole morning. The coffee was excellent too.
Drafted reply
Rachel, thank you for sharing this. Nadia has such a gift for reading the room, and knowing that a quick coffee and a "breathe" landed the way it did means a lot to us. Hoping the interview went beautifully. Come back and tell us how it turned out.

Every reply marked as drafted below is verbatim output of the same engine a customer's account uses, produced by claude-opus-4-7 and frozen on the date its own card carries, the registry itself last rewritten on 2026-09-13. The wording is the engine's throughout, and the only thing the freeze script changes is the shape of the placeholder, which is why a few of them read [contact] where a contact route belongs: the engine was given a business and a review and no way to reach anybody, so it left the slot for you. Filling that in, and deciding whether you agree with the rest, is the part you do before you post it.
AI Personalities
One review, two voices
Every draft is written in a voice, and the voice is yours to pick. Below is the first review on this page answered twice, in two of the AI Personalities that come with every plan, with nothing changed between them but the voice.

Heartfelt
Radiates genuine gratitude and care. References specific review details to show the reviewer was truly heard. Makes customers feel like their visit meant something special.
Elena, thank you. Knowing your flat white order and saving that window seat isn't accidental, it's the part of the morning we care about most. So glad the Ethiopian is landing well for you. Keep an eye out for what's coming next on the single origin rotation.

Professional
Polished, formal, and diplomatic. Uses measured language and handles all situations with composure. Ideal for healthcare, legal, financial, and corporate businesses.
Thank you, Elena. Knowing that the extra hot flat white, the morning pastries, and that window seat make your visits feel like your own is exactly what we hope for. We are delighted the Ethiopian single origin has landed so well, and we think you will enjoy what is coming next on the rotation.

Set a voice for the account and every draft arrives in it, or leave it on Auto and each review gets the one its own analysis calls for. Either way the draft waits for you: GetSetReply writes it, you post it.
What happens to a review before you see a draft
The review is read before anything is written
Every review is analyzed first: the rating, the sentiment, the themes a reader would pick out, and a closed set of risk flags (possible legal issue, safety concern, harassment or abusive language, worth checking this reviewer). The draft is written from that reading, and a review nothing usable could be read from does not get drafted at all.
The voice is a setting, not a house style
Pick an AI Personality for the account or let Auto choose one per review from what the analysis found. Change it on any draft and it is rewritten in the new voice, from the same reading.
One inbox instead of a login for each
Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, DoorDash, Trustpilot, Etsy and Facebook arrive in one list, already analyzed and already drafted. GetSetReply writes the draft and you post it, so nothing reaches a review page until you send it.
You can try the drafting half on a review of your own without an account. Paste it into the free review response generator and read what comes back.
What to keep and what to cut
A positive reply is short by design. Every extra sentence is a chance to sound like marketing.
Do
- Quote or paraphrase one detail from the review. One is enough and two starts to sound like a recap.
- Use their first name if the review carries one and it reads naturally.
- Say something specific about the next visit rather than a generic invitation to return.
- Sign off the way you would in the room, not the way a brand would.
Do not
- Do not ask them to share the review, tag you or bring a friend. The reply is a thank you, not a campaign.
- Do not paste the same two sentences under twelve reviews in a row. Anyone can see the column.
- Do not add a discount code or an offer. That turns a compliment into a transaction.
- Do not stack exclamation marks. One is warm and three is a chain email.
Questions about replying to praise
Does answering praise actually do anything?
It works on the people who have not left a review yet. A profile where the kind reviews have a human answer under them reads as a business that is paying attention, and that is what a first time customer is scanning for when they scroll past the complaints.
What do I write when the review says almost nothing?
Answer the rating rather than inventing detail. Thank them for the score, name the thing your business is actually known for, and stop. A short honest reply beats a long one built on a guess.
Should the reply mention the member of staff they praised?
Yes, when the reviewer named them and the mention is positive. Passing praise on by name is one of the few things in a review reply that costs nothing and is genuinely felt.
How long should a positive reply be?
Two sentences is usually right and three is the ceiling. The reply should be shorter than the review that prompted it.
More wording, for the reviews that are harder than this
Sixteen a day, in your voice
Praise deserves better than a macro
Every five star review that lands comes back with a draft carrying the one detail that proves somebody read it.
