Beta features

What a beta feature is at GetSetReply, which features are in beta today, and how to ask for access to one.

A beta feature is one we are still building with a small group of businesses. It works, but its screens and rules can still change as we learn from them, and it is switched on account by account rather than for everyone.

What beta means here

  • Switched on for you, by us. A beta feature does not appear in your sidebar until we switch it on for your account. Once it is on, its name shows up in the sidebar the next time you load the app.
  • It can change. Labels, screens and rules may move between releases, and the documentation page for each feature is updated as they do. A feature may also stay in beta for a while before it is offered to everyone.
  • Your feedback shapes it. Tell us what is confusing, missing or wrong, and what you would use it for. It goes straight to the people building it.
  • The pages are labelled. In this documentation, every beta feature is listed under Beta features in the sidebar with a Beta mark beside its name, and its page opens with a Beta notice.

The features in beta today

Each one appears in your sidebar under the name in bold once it is switched on for you.

  • Costs: works out what each dish on your menu costs to make, matches your sales to your menu, and shows which dishes earn their place. See Menu cost model.
  • Inventory: works out how much of each ingredient to keep and to order, from what you sold. See Inventory par levels.
  • Coupons: texts offers to customers who agreed to hear from you, by hand or on a ladder, and shows who came in to use them. See Coupons.

Some of these build on each other. The menu cost model reads your sales from your point of sale, inventory par levels read your cost model, and Coupons texts from your location's own registered texting number. Each feature's page says what it needs before it can be switched on.

Ask for access

  1. Email support@getsetreply.com, or in the app open Support in the sidebar and choose Support Issue.
  2. Say which feature you would like to try, with the details listed next. On the Support page, put the feature's name in Subject and the details in Description, then press Submit Query.
  3. We reply by email, or under Past Queries on the Support page if you wrote from there. When the feature is switched on, it appears in your sidebar.

What to include, so we can set it up in one go:

  • The email address you sign in to GetSetReply with.
  • Your business's name, and which locations should have the feature.
  • Which point of sale you use, if any.
  • What you hope to use it for. It helps us tell you whether the feature fits today, or what is still missing.

Give feedback on a beta feature

Open Support in the sidebar and choose Support Issue. Put the feature's name in Subject, and describe what you saw or what you would change in Description. If something went wrong, say what you pressed and the exact message you saw. You can also email support@getsetreply.com.
